"Bitron" UVC Clarifier
|
Self cleaning models
|

The
Bitron UVC clarifier fights algae effectively with an ingenious UVC
technology. It even reduces pathogens in the pond water.
A cleverly designed bypass system allows the regulation of the flow that
passes the UV light. This enables optimal adjustment to any pond and its
respective biological system.

What we liked: The all new self
cleaning mechanism is just the best thing since sliced bread.
As most people don't take the time to clean the quartz tube often
enough a normal UVC does not perform to the full potential. Bitron -
self cleaning models
are just the best units on the market, and worth every cent.
The integrated permanent magnets
prevent calcium deposits.

What we did not like: There
is nothing not to like, this product is about perfect, nothing comes
close. Next best is
Hozelock Vorton, but a distant second |

- An integrated cleaning mechanism enables quick
and easy cleaning of the quartz glass sleeve so that the UV efficiency
is not decreased by dirt, the device always operates at optimum
efficiency.
- The integrated permanent magnets prevent calcium
deposits. The result: The lack of calcium ensures the unit will
function over a long period without maintenance.
- Automatic cleaning for the new Bitron series
means that a cleaning mechanism is continuously activated by the water
flow around the quartz glass tube and thus directly prevents the
settling of sludge and slime. The result is a UV-C quartz glass tube
that is always clear. This ensures that the lamp is always 100 %
effective.
-
The
Bitron C cleaning process is unique to OASE and is patent pending.
- In addition, the Bitron is equipped with one inlet and two
outlets with special hose tails
Optimal performance is ensured through an adjustable bypass system
by turning the regulators.
All Bitron UVC clarifiers have an integrated indicator
light or an inspection window that allow convenient
inspection of the UVC light tube.
The Bitron has been designed in accordance with the highest safety
standards. This has also been confirmed by the German VDE, which has
tested and approved the device.
The Bitron UV-C clarifiers are a bolt on component for
OASE Biotec
filter systems.
Quartz lamp cover tube - Quartz allows up to 95% of the UV rays to pass through it and
penetrate the water where it can act on the algae. Materials used in many
other UV-C units on the market such as plain glass and plastic only allow 30%
and 50% of UV rays to pass through them respectively.

Maximum pressure:
Head over 5m will Bitron UVC models up to 55C, or in the case of
72C and larger, head over 10m will damage Bitron UVC's The filter could even burst the container. On the other hand a pump with inadequate
head may not provide enough flow through the filter.
In a nut shell ....The height difference
between the filter lid and a pressure free outlet must not exceed 5 metres (0.5
bar). for 55C or smaller or 10m (1.0 bar) for 72C or larger.
So if the UVC was mounted 1m above the pond surface, the pressure free outlet
must not exceed 6m / 11m
There is however another factor in head calculations if long hose
lengths are used.
