1)
Pressure
Pond filters (Filter out of
pond, pump in pond)
Mostly for waterfalls, or when water is being higher than the pond.
Pressure filters
are the most popular by far, a canister sits outside the
pond for easy access and can either send water to a waterfall or feature. The
canister can be buried so as little as 70mm shows above the ground.

The pump sits inside the pond sending water and debris to the
pressure filter and then on to a waterfall or feature. |

2)
Gravity Pond filters
(Filter out of pond, pump in pond) Not ideal for waterfalls
as the box must sit above the highest point.
Gravity filters
are an external filter (box) that are much harder to hide
than pressure filters as they can't be buried. They are ideal for Koi, Turtles
or very heavy fish stocking due to the waste volume.
