6. Fountain Pump & Pressure filter

When an external filter is used with a fountain pump, a second pump must be installed.
 This is because external filters must be feed by a filter style pump that are able to take in as many particles as possible. If fountain heads are also used the particles will block the spray head holes. (Except for Laguna Free flo)
So fountain heads can only be used when the pump has a foam pre-filter or holes in the pump cage small enough to block particles that would block the spray heads.

Also, as biological filters must run 24/7.  If you do not want to run the fountain continuously the only alternative is to have two pumps.
